I can hardly believe it, but I’ve been blogging here for 18 months, and this is my 70th post.
Today, I want to do something a little different. I want to talk to you about why I love being a book coach and editor. I also want to tell you about some special offers I have for writers this spring.
Why I Love Being a Book Coach and Editor
When I was in my twenties, I wanted to be a writer and an English teacher, but life, as the saying goes, is what happens while you’re making other plans. I made my career as a paralegal. But over the years, I kept writing and pursuing an education. It hit me recently that I’ve actually made both my earlier dreams come true. In an Under the Tuscan Sun sort of twist, I realized that I do have the life I imagined, just not in the way I originally imagined it.

Book coaching allows me to teach, but it also gives me the freedom and the opportunity to do so much more. I love that I get to work one-on-one with writers. I especially enjoy working with new writers because I have so much to offer them in terms of writing education. I love that I can customize what I teach to each writer’s needs. And I love that I get to be that writer’s community, accountability partner, and cheerleader. Encouraging writers and helping them get across the finish line is my superpower.

Mini Coaching Session for $150
I’m offering 45-minute mini coaching sessions for $150. This is more intense than the free coaching session. Within 24 hours after you purchase the session, you’ll receive a form to complete with questions about your book. It can be a book you have an idea for, a book you’ve started to write, or a book you have a complete draft of. Once you return the form to me, I’ll provide you with written feedback, and we’ll schedule a half-hour coaching call to discuss your project.
Manuscript Evaluation for $600
I’m offering Manuscript Evaluations for $600 to my next 10 writers. After that, the price will go up significantly. As a book coach and editor, manuscript evaluations are one of my favorite things to do. A manuscript evaluation is almost like a mini developmental edit. Within 24 hours after you purchase the manuscript evaluation, you will receive an email with instructions to upload your manuscript. I will read your full manuscript of up to 100,000 words. I will provide you with a minimum 3-5 page editorial letter covering the big-picture strengths and weaknesses of your manuscript in terms of things like structure, plot, character, and point-of-view. Once I send you my feedback, we’ll schedule a 45-minute coaching session to discuss your project. A 50% deposit is due at time of booking, with the balance invoiced and due prior to delivery of editorial letter.
